The purpose of driver education is to provide students with comprehensive driving and learning of the fundamentals of driving and responsible attitudes and behaviors. The family, not the school, is in the best position to have a sustained effect on minimizing the risks faced by inexperienced drivers. We encourage family members to support our students. Successful completion of Crossroads state-approved driver education prepares students for their role as a safe and mature driver. Significant attention is given to risk awareness, driver behaviors and the effects of drugs and alcohol when operating a vehicle. Online instruction and behind-the-wheel education will focus the student on safe driving standards including regulations, traffic signs, controls, Identify, Predict, Decide, and Execute (IPDE) process, and the basics of car control.
